Eldema neon E-Lites are permanent mounting indicators that are rugged and simple to install. Lamp life can easily be expected to go beyond any necessity for replacements. E-Lites have aluminum cases with either a black or clear anodized finish, high dielectric insulation and two tin plated turret terminals. The lenses are available in a choice of five colors and a variety of shapes of any display requirements.

Neon E-Lites are ideal on applications for 110-125V AC. The suggested lamp resistor combination for this voltage is the high brightness NE2H type with 33k ohm which gives considerable brilliance and a life in excess of 25,000 hours, designated as N123 in the part number. The standard brilliance lamp-NE2E type-should normally be used in DC circuits where there is insufficient voltage for the high brightness lamps.

Choice of Lamps

High brightness lamps offer the best indication. They required 110-125 Volts AC or 150 Volts DC for their operation. The current required is less than 2 ma with a 33k resistor in series with the lamp.

The standard brightness lamps require less than 0.7 ma current. They operate on a minimum of 90 Volts DC or 65 Volts AC with a 100K resistor in series with the lamp.

Lens Colors & Caps

The lens colors are all clear (transparent ) shades for maximum light output. Cloudy clear (CC) is the shade of white moust suitable for neon lamps. Note that green blue lens colors are not effective with neon glow lamps.

Part markings on neon E-Lites include Eldema. The E-Lite series, and the llamp number or the lamp/resistor number and resistor value.

All flat top Eldema neon E-Lite lens caps may not be stamped. The smaller diameter lenses (EG02/ EG02, EG03/EG03) accommodate: 1 character, 11/64” – 2 Characters, 7/64” – 3 characters, 5/65” high.

The large lens caps (EG06/ER06) accommodate: 1 character, 13/64” – 2 character, 13/64” – 2 characters, 11/64” – 3 characters, 7/64”.

Note also that the large diameter screw-on lens caps designed to rotate to align the lens marking after installation. The EG19/ER19 fluted lens caps are not recommended for lens marking.

Choice of Resistor

The lower the resistor value the greater the light output, but the life rating decreases. The standard life ratings are the best compromise for most applications.

The last digit in the lamp/resistor number designates the resistor value as follows: (EG Types) 0 – None; (ER Types) 1 – 22K, 3 – 33K, 4 – 56K, 7 – 100K. other resistor values are available on special order.
